Template Details

The ADL Matrix provides a strategic framework in 2 steps, categorizing business portfolio strategies by industry maturity and competitive position, designed for PowerPoint and Google Slides. The ADL Matrix, developed by Arthur D. Little Consulting in 1979, provides a strategic framework in 2 steps, categorizing business portfolio strategies by industry maturity and competitive position. The ADL Matrix template includes two visually distinct slides. The first slide features the full ADL Matrix, highlighting five competitive positions—Dominant, Strong, Favorable, Tenable, and Weak—and their alignment with four industry maturity stages: Embryonic, Growth, Mature, and Aging. It uses a color-coded table, where green signifies growth actions, yellow suggests maintenance, and red indicates divestment strategies. The second slide simplifies this into a high-level overview, condensing strategic directives for each category. Both slides maintain a clean, professional look, with headers styled in blue and gray for easy differentiation. This template is invaluable for explaining portfolio management concepts in business strategy presentations. For instance, a CEO evaluating product lines could use the detailed ADL Matrix to decide on investments in high-growth products or divestment from aging ones. Similarly, strategy consultants could leverage the simplified slide to guide clients through decision-making workshops, aligning competitive strengths with market opportunities. The ADL Matrix works best in scenarios requiring clarity around portfolio optimization and strategic alignment. The template offers two unique slides designed using PowerPoint’s table function for full customization. Available in both Standard (4:3) and Widescreen (16:9) formats, it supports PPTX and Google Slides.
